Despite his throwing hand looking like that, Tony Romo insisted he was ready to Sunday night's de facto NFC East championship game against the New York Giants.
"It's great," the Dallas Cowboys quarterback told NBC's Cris Collinsworth, even though his hand resembled Santa's with frostbite. "I feel like I'm going to do something special tonight."
Romo was injured on Christmas Eve when he hit his hand on the helmet of Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Jason Babin. He practiced this week with a wrap on his hand but decided against wearing any protection during the game.
NBC's Michele Tafoya reported Romo declined to get a painkilling injection in his hand before kickoff. Al Michaels noted he shook with his left hand during the coin toss and was handing to his running backs with his off hand as well.
