ROMO INJURED IN OPENING SERIES VS. EAGLES

ARLINGTON, Texas - Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo banged his passing hand on a defender's helmet at the end of his first series Saturday, and wasn't likely to play the rest of the game.

X-rays showed no damage. He returned and threw a few wobbly warm-up passes on the sideline, got his hand wrapped and traded his helmet for a baseball cap. His injury was described as a bruise.

Stephen McGee replaced Romo at the start of the second series — and probably would've soon or later anyway. When the Giants had just won their game, it made this one irrelevant to Dallas, whose post-season chances will be decided in the finale against the Giants in New York next weekend.

Other key players likely were to get the rest of the game off, too.
