The Dallas Cowboys players are set to get back to work toward the end of July if the lockout isn’t resolved by then.

Of course, Tuesday’s owners meeting at the O’Hare Westin in Rosemont, Ill., was yet another reason for optimism on the labor front. The belief – or hope – is that a deal between owners and players could be struck in the next two to three weeks. That would allow training camps to start on time – or close to on time.

But if there is a breakdown along the way, the Cowboys are set to get back to work, according to Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News. Quarterback Tony Romo said about 45 players attended player-run workouts in May.

The sincere hope here is we don’t hear much more about player-run workouts.
