Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett is expected to be out two to four weeks after injuring his right ankle in the team’s preseason game Saturday at Minnesota.

According to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, he suffered a high ankle sprain as he was blocking for running back DeMarco Murray and a Vikings defender rolled up on him from behind.

If it’s a true high ankle sprain, we find it hard to believe he’ll be back in two weeks and the injury could take longer than a month.

Bennett is a candidate for a contract extension because his deal is up at the end of this year, but the Cowboys want to see more from him. Now, they’ll have to wait to see that.
