The injury-riddled New York Giants will be missing another player as they try to regain control in the NFC East in a showdown against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
The Giants listed safety Kenny Phillips as out Saturday, and announced he did not make the trip to Dallas.
Phillips sprained his MCL last week in the Giants' loss to the Green Bay Packers. He had been listed as doubtful on Friday, but was eliminated as a possibility to play the next day.
Phillips joins plenty of other key players who will miss the Giants' chance to tie the Cowboys in the standings and move ahead in the head-to-head tiebreaker. Defensive end Osi Umenyiora (ankle/knee) and center David Baas (neck/headaches) are also out and not traveling, as are linebackers Spencer Paysinger (hamstring) and Mark Herzlich (ankle).
Phillips had started every game this season.
