The New York Giants could be getting some help in the nick of time as they play for the NFC East crown and a playoff berth on Sunday night.
Defensive end Osi Umenyiora, who has been sidelined a month with an ankle injury, practiced on Wednesday for the firsy time and could be in the mix for the game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Giants listed him as limited, and Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports Mathias Kiwanuka called him “as fast as ever.”
The key for the Giants is seeing how Umenyiora’s ankle holds up this week in preparation for the showdown. With Umenyiora missing so much time this season, Jason Pierre-Paul has shined, earning a Pro Bowl berth. Getting Umenyiora could help the Giants crank up the pass rush against Tony Romo.
