What is a Dallas Cowboys fan to do while counting down the days till the Super Bowl game between the New York Giants and New England Patriots. Well, the first thing they can do is look at the game and realize that, if not for last minute lapses during the regular season, Dallas would have beaten both of these teams.

Hey, Dallas' fans need to take comfort any way they can get it right now.

The New York Giants have a great chance of winning this Super Bowl and recent history is all you need to understand that. These last time these teams were each in the Super Bowl they played and it was close to the same circumstances. New York was a wild card team, barely getting in by their teeth, and the Patriots were dominating.

The difference is that, the last time they played in the Super Bowl, New England was undefeated and that might have been added pressure on them for the final game of the season. Also, this year the Giants have already beaten the Patriots, once again in dramatic fashion at the end of the game.

It's amazing looking at how many games this season turned out that way.

If Brady had not drove the Patriots down the field with less than two minutes remaining and Rob Ryan's defense had not collapsed at the most inopportune time, Dallas could have beaten one of the Super Bowl teams. If the Giants had not iced the Dallas kicker at the end of the game, there would have been an overtime and Dallas could have beaten the other one. If the Giants had not come from behind in the last minute and beaten the Patriots, Dallas might not have needed that last win of the season.

If any of those games had played out differently, Dallas might be in the Super Bowl. Like I said, Dallas' fans need something to feel positive about. Then again, that is all coulda, shoulda and woulda. None of it really matters.

Now, Dallas gets to see two of the teams that broke their hearts this season play each other in the biggest game of the NFL season. If San Francisco made it, at least Dallas could have said they beat them this season. This time, Dallas can only watch and wonder what could have been. That is about the worst situation a Cowboys' fan can find themselves in.
