FedEx Field is getting a makeover and as part of it the Washington Redskins are removing nearly 7,000 seats from upper seating areas in order to create two party decks.

The Washington Post reported that concert goers to a Kenny Chesney show this past weekend got a glimpse at some of the construction at the stadium in Landover, Md.

The party decks will be built above the end zones and the team has yet to make a formal announcement regarding the news. FedEx Field had a listed capacity of 91,704 last season and that number is expected to drop to about 85,000 for creation of the party decks, similar to what the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have.

The areas provide an area for fans to purchase affordable standing-room only tickets and then spend a bundle on food and beverages. Construction is expected to be completed before the start of the season.
