The conditioning of wide receiver Roy Williams has been so much of an issue in the training camp of the Chicago Bears that receivers coach Darryl Drake has told him that he might just lose his job as a starter if he doesn't get it together pronto, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
"He and I have talked about that. And the good thing about it is, you got Johnny Knox, who is fighting and working hard," Drake said, the paper reports. "And believe you and me, [Williams] also understands that Johnny is there, and Johnny is hungry, and Johnny wants his spot back. And if things don't start changing, then Johnny is going to be in there. Heard it straight from the horse's mouth."
Drake and Williams, who joined the Bears this season after playing for the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys, previously worked together in the early 2000s when Williams was still in college at Texas.
